“It’s a volcano.” said one of the women, proudly displaying the sand mudpie she’d created. ‘Mine’s a castle,’ said another, placing a feather on the highest tower of her sand village. We surveyed the diversity of our artwork. There were moats, rock gardens and stairways, there were bridges, windows and towers. We happily had our photo taken with our creation thanks to Cathy who happened to be passing by, curious as to why 5 grown women had brought buckets and spades to a beach, with no kids in sight.

 

I’m normally very sure footed. If there’s a waterfall somewhere upstream I’m the first to be leaping from rock to rock with delicious anticipation. But today was different. I was meant to be heading up the group, but my feet kept slipping into the crevices between mossy rocks. I kept being fooled by dead ends.

It was time for a website overhaul (thanks flinchtech.com !!!) and so it's been a little while since the last entry. Now we're back on track... so stay tuned!

Sorry, I just returned from one of the most profound retreats in my life and am dancing with new paradigms, taught by my dearest teacher, mother Maui. Each time she takes me into her heart, I go deeper, and she shows me more of what it truly means to be in the moment and awaken the feminine spirit. And then I struggle with finding the words to express something so vulnerable, so passionate, and so fundamental to life. So here’s a first attempt:

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

This is one of my favorite quotes because it's just so incredible true. Over and over I see the same thing.. .when a few people with a clear vision, a heap of passion, and a lot of love, get together, then magic can happen.
