Follow your Nose (another podcast from Rachel on www.energyofthespirit.com)
Are there certain fragrances that instantly transport you back in time? The smell of baked bread? Cut grass? A particular cologne your mother wore? A special blend of coffee?
Our sense of smell is the sense that is most closely linked with memory. When we breathe in a fragrance the way it gets processed in the brain is such that it connects instantly with our emotional center, and so elicits a response. It is a fabulous way to bring a sense of calm too. What fragrances bring a sense of calm for you? Which ones are soothing and comforting for you? Those will be the ones you'll need to call on at times when you need to handle stress.
Our sense of smell is so intricately connected with memory and emotion... so how can we use this sense more consciously in our life to sniff out new opportunities and solutions?
And here are some interesting smell facts: Dogs have 1 million smell cells per nostril and their smell cells are 100 times larger than humans! If your nose is at its best, you can tell the difference between 4000-10,000 smells!
Join me and discover:

We've explored vision, touch and smell. How about taste? (listen to the podcast on www.energyofthespirit.com )
What flavors make you feel good? What foods soothe and nourish? This is way more important than perhaps you realize. It’s so easy to rush our food and drink without truly tasting it. With the fast pace of modern life, eating on the run, or in the car is a daily habit for many. And yet if we realized how important our sense of taste is, not just in terms of savoring and enjoying our food, but also in terms of savoring life, and connecting with what truly matters. One of our clients, a well-known musician was shocked to discover how little he tapped into his sense of taste and smell. Rushing from one gig to another his staple diet was fast food and TV dinners. Tears welled in his eyes as he realized how much that was not only affecting his health but his clarity of thinking, and his creativity. The saying ‘you are what you eat’ is not just metaphorical.
So come and discover how your sense of taste can influence your fulfilment in life. And how interconnced your sense of smell and taste are. In this show we’ll also explore how our aesthetic taste, and how ‘getting a taste’ of new experiences can help shift your life in ways you cannot even imagine!
